The American cyclist Chris Horner , winner of the Tour of Spain 2013 , has suffered a serious fall after allegedly being hit by a car while training in northern Italy . As reported by the Lampre -Merida team has a punctured lung and four broken ribs.
Through a statement, the cycling team reported that the cyclist was hospitalized with a punctured lung , four broken ribs and cuts to his head after the accident , which occurred near Lake Como, in the Italian town of Lecco.
Details of the accident are still being evaluated , however , it appears the cyclist was hit by a car while training on a road in this county . Following the incident , Horner - 42 - was taken to the nearest hospital , where he received medical attention.
